Welcome to ziggy and alan adventures

I'm Alan, I'm 35 years old and I live in Kimberley, Nottingham. 

My wife Leah & I, rescued Ziggy when he was 8 weeks old in December 2024, and he is the first puppy we have raised. 

Ziggy is mainly a Labrador/Collie Cross, with a DNA also highlighting some Husky, German Shephard and American Bulldog in his DNA. 

Ziggy is approximately 16 months old, and is the friendliest, most affectionate dog you could hope to meet. 

Ziggy is the second dog Leah & I have rescued. Our last dog was Scarlette, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier who was in our lives for just over 9 years, but who we sadly lost in November 2024 to cancer. 

In my spare time, I love to do a whole variety of things including going running, walking, seeing live music (especially rock & heavy metal), watching sports, practising photography, gardening, reading & writing the occasional poem. 

Ziggy and Alan Adventures has been created to share our experiences and journeys together. 

Ziggy & I have recently started learning Canicross together, as recommended to us by our trainer. 

At the beginning of 2025, I really got into my running to help me with both my physical and mental health. I went on to join my local running club KADS (Kimberley and District Striders) and I completed my first marathon in October 2025, raising money for Diabetes UK. 

Along with sharing our training progress for Canicross, we will share our journeys and adventures together, to provide you with inspiration of different places to travel with your dog and to hopefully provide you with a moment of peace and calm as we share our photos & videos.
